When I was growing up, my Father told me that sex before marriage was morally wrong and urged me to keep away from it.

He advised that I could still do all the "guy" I wanted to do and yet appear holy before God on my wedding night.

He said that sex with a wife is the thirsty invitation to marriage and wedding.

I listened to my Father and tried to be "holy"

However, a number my peers were not so disposed and they kept hammering on the fact that if one does not have sex before marriage, how then would one be able to know whether or not he was capable of doing it at all?

And all other such taunting stories.

Somewhere along the line, a friend who was also practicing abstinence sent me this write up and I am sharing it with you especially young people who cave in to peer pressure to have sex before they are ripe for anything and thus damage their future or plunge themselves into regrettable actions

You are really missing a lot

And here's a list of the things you are missing

1. You are missing contracting Sexually Transmitted Diseases like Gonorrhoea, Syphilis, Warts, HIV/AIDS e.t.c.

2. You are missing having unwanted pregnancy which might lead you into either committing abortion or having a baby that is not loved

3. You are missing becoming an unprepared mother or father

4. You are missing becoming a school dropout and thus a liability to yourself and the Society at large

5. You are missing having an unsettled home

6. You are missing becoming barren due to repeated and quack abortions

7. You are missing being "used" and dumped as the guy might deny responsibility for the pregnancy and sometimes may just disappear into the thin air

8. You are missing being psychologically and physically depressed all the time

10. You are missing becoming broken hearted

11. You are missing disobedience to God's law on adultery and fornication

12. You are missing being a source of disappointment to God and your Parents/Guardians

13. You are missing being tagged a "whore" or "prostitute"

14. You are missing losing your dignity and self respect

15. You are missing being called a "murderer' because you killed an unborn child"

Have you seen that you really miss a lot by not having sex before marriage?

The evidence of growth is not in engaging in sexual activity with reckless abandon, rather it is in remembering that there is a future to be lived in and to prepare for that future today.

Do not destroy your future by engaging in a 5 minute activity that would leave you in pains and a shattered dream than heal you

You can have all your swag and yet maintain your dignity and self respect.

Say No to Sex before marriage
